WoW Health was founded in 2018 with one mission: to make healthcare transparent, affordable,
and accessible to all.
What does WoW do?
WoW connects patients directly with healthcare providers, offers packages that cut down drug costs, and provides an opportunity to become part of a healthcare community. WoW is a direct-pay marketplace that allows consumers, employers and individuals to shop and access healthcare from medical providers at a steep discount. We recognize that everyone in healthcare is a ‘self-pay’ consumer; even with health insurance, when copays, deductibles, and coinsurances factor into healthcare, the total out-of-pocket cost frequently exceeds what a WoW member would pay with our direct-pay network.
While 95% of the events in healthcare take place in the outpatient setting, about 1 in 6
healthcare events are large medical necessities such as emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and surgeries. We acknowledge that not all instances of care can be addressed with direct-pay agreements - instead, we offer solutions such as HealthShares to supply protection against these unforeseen emergencies.
Why WoW?
Dr. Jawad Arshad, CEO of WoW Health Solutions, is an emergency room physician with
first-hand experience of the lack of transparency in healthcare for both consumers and
providers. He created WoW to bring meaningful access for not just the 5% of large medical events, but the 95% of everyday healthcare needs.
To address that 95%, WoW focuses on the four main sectors of healthcare: needing to see a doctor, whether that’s in person or over the phone; mental health services to cope with life’s stressors; medications; and diagnostic measures such as lab work and scans.
